Emerging From the Halt

Yo, what’s up?! It’s been a minute since I dropped something here. Because, you know—life. Actually, the writing has never really stopped. It’s just been allocated to a number of other places. I had to come back here and get reunited with myself.

Well, let’s see… 2020, am I right?! Shit…

It hit me, too. Currently without your typical full-time, 9-to-5, I’ve been dedicating that time to refocus and refresh. Jasonley.com got a makeover. Hope you dig. I wanted a reinforced repository for all the dirt under my nails. This site was built to breathe and expand. I want to max it out.

Normally, I run pretty hot. I have the tendency to red line. I’m addicted to the adrenaline of conquering whatever I touch. But, that shouldn’t imply that I don’t recognize when, perhaps, I’d benefit from occasionally taking a polite pass.

However, at the beginning of the pandemic, the stay-at-home order forced me to slow the F down. And I liked it. Kinda a lot. Between you and me, it was good for me to experience the forced halt and non-negotiable unknown. Still, I itched.

So, I quietly started recording a podcast, Island & Bar (@IslandAndBar), sketching out the framework for my own consulting and content creation firm, Dismantle Repair (@dsmntlrpr), and started budgeting for how much it’s going to cost (or save) me to destroy all the white, picket fences with The Ley Oasis (@TheLeyOasis). Depending on when you read this, I may or may not have turned on social for all of them. If not, stay tuned.

I’m currently typing this while shotgunning for a little over three hours, en route west to Glenwood Springs, CO from Longmont. Destination: Casey Blending and Brewery. The sun’s staring at me, time to wrap this up.
